Answering fake support

The shortest page here, because the correct message is an empty one and the only thing worth explaining is why replying at all makes things worse.

The channel settles it

Support for a market lives inside the market, behind a login, attached to an account. That is not a policy somebody chose to enforce strictly. It is the only place where the party you are talking to can see who you are and what your orders were. So there is no chat account, no forum handle and no email address that is genuinely support, and you never have to assess the message.

Why the polite refusal costs more than silence

Any reply marks the account as live, attended and worth more effort. There is nothing to gain in any branch of it. If the message were genuine, which it is not, you would lose nothing by ignoring it, because real support sits behind a login you already have.

Quoting: the version that works better

The strong version is deliberately empty. A polite refusal is still a reply, and a reply is the only thing the message was trying to buy. Block, do not answer, and do not explain which part gave it away, because that is free feedback for the next attempt.

The patient version

The best of these do not ask for anything in the first message. They help. They solve a small thing, they are patient, and the request appears two days later inside a conversation that now feels normal. That is why the rule has to be about the channel rather than about how the exchange feels, because by then it feels fine.

If you already replied with something

If you already sent a code or a recovery phrase, stop reading and act. Change what can be changed from an address you checked yourself, read your message log before your balance, and assume a session is live right now.

How it finds you

  • You posted about a problem in public. A request for help is a list of people in trouble.
  • You are in an obvious group or channel. No targeting needed, only volume.
  • Your handle is used somewhere else too. Which is its own reason to keep names separate.
  • You replied to something once. Any answer at all marks the account as live.

If you already sent something

  1. Get in through an address you checked yourself, not the one you were just using.
  2. Change the password to something used nowhere else, and change it anywhere it was reused.
  3. Reset the second factor and save the new recovery material before closing the page.
  4. Read the message log before the balance. A taken account is worth more as a way to talk to people who trust it.
