Every other page here tells you to write less. This one is the exception, and getting it wrong is the single most common cause of a parcel that never arrives through nobody being dishonest.
What you want out of it
A block that can be copied once and used without interpretation. Anything the sender has to guess about is a chance to guess wrong, and there is no way to correct it afterwards because you will not know it happened until the window has closed.
What the vendor sees
A block of text they will copy and paste while doing forty other things. They are not reading it as prose. Anything conversational wrapped around it makes the copy harder and increases the chance a line gets left behind.

The weak one contains an uncertainty, a missing field, a field split across two messages and an instruction that cannot be followed. Each of those is a separate way for the parcel to go nowhere. The strong one is boring, complete and copyable, which is the entire specification for this message.
What to leave out
- Explanations of the address. If a line needs explaining, put the explanation in the line.
- Anything about who lives there or what the building is. It is not needed and it does not stay private.
- A second message correcting the first. If you got it wrong, resend the whole block and say plainly that this one replaces the earlier one.
- Jokes, apologies and small talk. They get copied by accident more often than you would think.
The message worth encrypting
Encrypt this one if the market gives you the option and you have the vendor key. It is the message where the contents matter most and the only one on this site where that is unambiguously worth the extra minute.
What happens next
Usually nothing, which is correct. If you get a question back about a line, answer it by resending the whole block with that line fixed rather than by sending the correction alone, because a correction on its own has to be merged by hand and that is where it goes wrong.
